The Professional Scrum Master II™ (PSM II) course is a specially designed, advanced 2-day training course, which supports Scrum Master in their professional development. PSM II is designed for Scrum Masters with at least one year of practical experience who are looking to expand their knowledge and skills and take a step forward. PSM II also includes a free trial to the globally recognized Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) certification. Unlike the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course, which focuses on the application of Scrum, the Scrum Framework and the role of the Scrum Master, the PSM II is an advanced course that helps participants understand the different points of view and actions of an effective Scrum Master and Servant Leader, while deepening how they serve the development team, product owner and organization. The course teaches participants the practices and skills that enable them to use the right kind of conversations to become a better Scrum Master.
During the 2 days the participants will learn about essential areas which are necessary for the further development of a successful Scrum Masters. This includes how the principles and values of Scrum lead the Scrum Master to good decisions and how the Scrum Master can help to shape the environment of Scrum Teams and create an environment where agility can flourish. The role of the Scrum Master is complex and the Scrum Master must be able to take the different points of view over and over again to be effective as:
- Scrum Master as Teacher
- Scrum Master as Coach and Mentor
- Scrum Master as Moderator and Mediator
- Scrum Master as Change Agent
The ability of a Scrum Master to identify the right point of view with the greatest benefit in a given situation and to apply it effectively may well prove to be the key to the success of his teams. Part of the role of the Scrum Master is to communicate the benefits of Scrum and Agile to management and stakeholders across companies. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that they have the information and the experience to gain credibility and be successful as change agents. Throughout the course, PST will provide participants with experience, exercises, facilitation techniques (such as "Liberating Structures"), tools and much more. The Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) has also scheduled time for coaching participants on current or future challenges.
