Oh dear, another problem. Not that one too. We'll never get out of this one. How could this possibly happen? If you are stuck on a problem and can't and won't get ahead, it is sometimes because your thoughts revolve exclusively around the problem, leaving no energy and attention free for possible solutions. By focusing on solutions, i.e. thinking in terms of solutions, you direct your energy towards your goals (in the future) instead of towards problems (in the past). The big difference: while the past can no longer be changed, you have many opportunities to influence your future.
In this spotlight we will look at:
- Which own attitude is necessary to move from problem-orientation to solution-orientation.
- What steps you can consciously take to focus your attention on solutions.
- What role language, choice of words and questions play in solution-focusing.
Learning objectives:
- In this 2-hour workshop, participants will experience the difference between problem and solution focus and reflect on their own behaviour.
- You will be given tools to help you move yourself and others from problem to solution focus.
- You will learn how to consciously switch between problem analysis and solution focus.
Topics:
- Problem orientation - useful or a hindrance?
- The history and tools of solution orientation
- The path from problem focus to solution focus using examples
- Many practical exercises
The workshops are led by experienced systemic business coaches.
