Wiesbaden engaged

[Translate to EN:]

We were able to participate in "Wiesbaden engaged" for the second time. In 2019, we already organized a soccer tournament for 17 elementary school in cooperation with the Department of Social Work.

Unfortunately, the event had to be canceled last year due to corona and also this year there was no joint football tournament. Nevertheless, we were happy to participate. Our disappointment about the cancellation of the joint soccer tournament motivated us to get involved in a special way, because we think that we have to stand up for future generations and social justice in particular.

Thus, the joint soccer tournament in June became a decentralized sports event on September 30, 2021, organized at 5 host schools. The young "players" had to compete without the cheering of their classmates, which fortunately did not dampen their zeal. All our employees were delighted by the motivation and sporting ambition of the school teams. The KEGON food boxes were well received to fortify the players.

To ensure that the children who would otherwise have been spectators at the tournament also got something out of our games, we organized a soccer quiz. The Office of Social Affairs had taken over the organization, so that all children completed the quiz at the same time - without cell phones!

On November 2, 2021, it was time to present the winners of the quiz with their prize. Congratulations to the students of the Adalbert-Stifter School for their first place. The other schools also received a box of great games.

Dr. Yvonne Görlitz also immediately promised that KEGON will be there again next year, hopefully in a big, joint soccer tournament. "For the future, I would like to see even more companies participating in this great campaign and taking the opportunity to give something back to the community and especially to the children!"
