SAFe® Advanced Software Engineering – how good software quality works and what XP practices really mean

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) is known and loved not only for its agile approach towards the definition of requirements through epcis, features and user stories, but also for its various roles and meetings to quickly develop the right products for the right customers. The key to product development of large products by large companies, so-called enterprises, always is good product quality, regardless of whether the product is software, a car or an aircraft. The SAFe understanding of quality in the SAFe BigPicture is hidden behind the SAFe Core Value "Build-In Quality" and the abbreviation "XP". "What exactly is hidden behind these two letters "XP" (written out eXtreme Programming) in SAFe and what skills a developer should have when working in a SAFe construct was a mystery for a long time and will now finally be revealed in detail in the 3 day training "SAFe Advance Software Engineering (ASE)"" says KEGON trainer Manuel Marsch, who has both a technical developer and a longer SAFe trainer background.

"We simply start by defining the term 'quality and quality requirements' and then, using two funny characters Arthur and Douglas and a fictitious example of a self-driving car, to dig through the technical concepts from BDD (Behavior-Driven-Development) and TDD (Test Driven-Development) to software design patterns, such as 'adapters' or proxy patterns down to the pseudo-code level, which is why initial programming skills are highly recommended for participants," continues Marsch.

So if you are a SAFe architect, a technically interested RTE or a Scrum Master or SAFe developer and would like to experience "XP", this 3-day Advanced Training is the right thing for you and we learn a lot of things that are no longer part of a bachelor degree in computer science and are not considered a development standard in most German companies or as Kegon trainer and non-Tekkie Caro Schmidt said "Finally I know what programmers should do and why it is often so difficult but extremely important.“

The SAFe ASE training is offered by KEGON as a public as well as an in-house training, the participants should already have SAFe knowledge and a good developer background, so no training for newbies or young crossover entrants.
